Third down situations is the Bills offense achillies heal

The Buffalo Bills pulled out a win today againt the Baltimore Ravens.  There is one glaring problem with the Bills so far this year that continued today, and that being third down situations.

The Bills offense was only 3-13 on third downs.  Seven of those first downs were shorter than five yards.

It is one thing to go 1-6 on third down situations of over five yards  However, to go only 2-7 on third down and shorter than five yards is horrible.

When the Bills gained a first down on third down the bills only had two yards to get a first down.  From three to five yards they are 0-5.

So, what does that mean.  It means that the offensive line is not doing their job.

The matter of the fact is that what the problem is that the Bills are in the wrong running scheme.  They are using a one running scheme, and it is horrible.

The one run play that was over 20 yards was when a lineman pulled.  That is something that the Bills need to use more of.

The Bills have agile offensive linemen, eventhough they are all big.  However big they are if they can run fast you have to use that.

You just cannot go striaght ahead all the time.  Sometimes you have to put a trap or pull running play in there from time to time to get the running game going.

Once, you get the running game going then things will open up offensively.

So, still as long as Fairchild is offensive coordinator they will not be that good offensivly, unless sees the light.
